Article Artifact

5 comments:

  1. Lici: Her topic was double lives. It related to the book because H. H. Holmes lived a double life as a kind man, but really was a murderer. Her article was about a man who had 2 girlfriends and lied a double life. Her artifact was a bottle of pills. The pills relate to double lives because pills can be good for you, but bad if to many are taken.

Emma: Emma's topic is taking advantage of things. It relates to the book because Holmes took advantage of workers and people by taking their life insurance money. Her article was about a woman who was in welfare, had too many social security numbers, and had fake husbands all for the money. Her artifact was deodorant because deodorant is sometimes taken advantage of as a substitute for showering. But that is bad.

Chaela: Her topic was about what we do when we are young effects how we age. It connects to the book because Burnham was a famous architect and aged well, but with a past of pain. The article was about how a man who took very good care if his body, and scientist proved that his good aging was due to the fact that he took such good care of himself. Her artifact was crisis because they were once grapes, but now they are aged as raisins. And some taste better than others because of how they were raised.

Haleigh: Her topic is about obsession and lust. It relates to the book because Holmes was obsessed with woman, money, and the dead. Her article was about a boy who raped women and was bailed out of jail, not to be found for 35 years later. Her artifact was a dollar bill. It represents that people are obsessed with wealth and power.

  2. Lici: I think that a lot of people are more naive than we would think, o others are able to lead double lives. The pill bottle was a good example.

Chaela: what you do when you're younger affects your age. Crasins are funny, but connects well! I like at you connected it to e life of the cranberries before they were dried out

Haleigh: obsession/lust. People are obsessed with money and women, dollar bill is a good symbol of obsession of money.

    Erin: perception
It's all in perspective, someone might see one thing and someone else will see another. You can make your situation completely different. Mt dew looks yummy, but is actually really bad for you health.

  3. Lici:
Good theme of double life, her article was good it matched the theme, the artifact really tied in the theme that something can help you but in the case of licis artifact of the pills too many can hurt you

    Emma:
Her theme was taking advantage of, and her article was crazy the woman cheated the system and took advantage of the welfare system. Her artifact was deodorant and she talked about how some people take advantage of deodorant instead of showering.

    Chaela:
Theme of what you do when you're young affects how you age. Her article was about an old man who ran faster than almost anyone else doing some marathons and how he took care of himself. Her artifact was craisins because some of them taste better than others and how they aged.

    Erin:
Her theme was about perception, and her article was about how people perceived you, likes doctor wearing a doctors cost vs. a painters coat. Her artifact was pop, because it looks good and tastes good but really it's bad for you to consume.

  4. Emma- "taking Advantage" a woman is taking advantage of welfare by using 12 different social security cards. People take advantage of deodorant and clothing companies take advantage of people by charging them a lot of money, just because their brand is labeled on it.

Chaela- "aging" what you do when you're younger affects you when you're older. 71 year old man can run faster than women in their 40s. He took care of himself when he was younger which allowed him to be healthy when he was older. Craisins start out as cranberries, some taste better than others, depending on how they were cared for. I liked this connection a lot.

Haleigh- "obsession/lust" man raped 3 women, never showed up to court. He was obsessed with rape, just like people are obsessed with money.

Erin- "perception" if someone wears a white coat that looks like a painters coat, they are probably not a real doctor. Pop looks good but in reality, they harm you're body. It can lead to a lot of problems within your body
